Bob's Research vs Seeking Alpha
Both give you a rating. They are measuring different things. Seeking Alpha aggregates opinion and market data; Bob reads what the company told the SEC. This page is for someone deciding where to spend a research budget.
The short answer
Seeking Alpha is the better pick if you want many voices, transcripts, screeners and a quant model built on price and fundamentals data. Bob, the AI 10-K reader, is the better pick if you want one plain read of the filing itself, buried risks included, for a fraction of the price.
What the ratings mean
Seeking Alpha's Quant Rating is a model over factors such as valuation, growth, profitability, momentum and revisions, sitting next to ratings from contributing authors and Wall Street analysts. It is largely a view of the stock.
Bob's 0–100 is a view of the filing: the durability of the business, the balance sheet, and what management is worried about and how plainly they say it. It says nothing about whether the stock is cheap today, and it doesn't move with the price.
Volume versus one voice
Seeking Alpha has thousands of contributor articles, bull and bear, of varying quality. That is its strength and its chore. Bob writes one read per filing, in the same format for every company, with the source linked.
Cost
Seeking Alpha Premium is $299 a year, billed annually, as of October 2026. Bob is a few free reads, then $5 a month, or $20 a month for the forensic read with five years of history.
When Seeking Alpha is the better pick
- You want earnings call transcripts, screeners and dividend grades in one place.
- You like reading arguments from both sides before deciding.
- You lean on factor and momentum data.
When Bob is the better default
- You want to know what the company itself disclosed, not what the crowd thinks.
- You want the same read for every name, without wading through articles.
- You want a monthly plan at a fraction of the price.
